The Smoothie King Center, formerly New Orleans Arena, has been home to the New Orleans Pelicans since 2002, although the arena was constructed in 1999 at a cost of $114 million dollars. The arena has a capacity of 18,500 and also hosts Tulane University’s men's basketball games on the occasion.
