Capital One Arena, formerly called the Verizon Center and also the MCI center, has been home to the Washington Capitals since 1997. The arena was constructed at an estimated cost of $260 million dollars and has a capacity of 18,277. Capital One Arena is also home to the NBA’s Washington Wizards.
