FedEx Field, formerly known as Jack Kent Cooke Stadium, has been home to the Washington Redskins since 1997. The stadium was constructed at an estimated cost of $250.5 million dollars and has a capacity of 82,000. With the subtraction of thousands of seats in 2011, Fedex Field is no longer the largest stadium in the National Football League. The Washington Redskins are currently exploring the idea of building a new stadium for the team in the D.C. metro area.
