PNC Park Seating Chart, Pittsurgh Pirates

PNC Park set a new standard for the way Major League Baseball teams build their baseball stadiums. The scenery PNC Park provides to baseball fans during the game is unrivaled. From the Riverwalk, to the views of the gorgeous downtown Pittsburgh skyline, to the Roberto Clemente Bridge beyond the outfield, to the quirky rotunda in left field, to the passenger boats that dock outside of the stadium, PNC Park is unlike any other ballpark. Our staff wanted to provide a thorough breakdown of the PNC Park seating chart to help baseball fans decide where to sit before purchasing their Pittsburgh Pirates tickets.

Where To Sit At PNC Park

PNC Park is a very easy stadium to navigate for first time visitors. The core seating areas include the field level seats, the bleacher seats in the outfield, the Pittsburgh Baseball Club seats on the second level, and the grandstand level (upper level). We’ll begin by discussing the field level seats.

Field Level (100 Level)

The field level seats at PNC Park consist of sections 1 through 32, as well as sections 101 through 147. For sections 1 through 32, most rows are lettered A through M. The number of rows for sections 101 through 147 will vary, but typically begin with rows A through Z, followed by rows AA through HH. Many of the double-lettered rows in the field level sections will be protected from the sun during day games (2nd level overhang).

Sections 142 through 145 are known as the right field reserved seats and offer a very unique vantage point at PNC Park. This seating area could be compared to Minute Maid Park’s Crawford Boxes in left field. The rows for the right field reserved sections are lettered A through M. The only downside to these seats? You don’t get the beautiful view of the downtown Pittsburgh skyline. Nevertheless, the right field reserved sections are the best seats at PNC Park for catching home runs from left handed batters.

The Pittsburgh Pirates’ dugout is located in front of sections 20 through 23. The visiting team’s dugout is located in front of sections 10 through 13. PNC Park’s bullpens are located adjacent to section 138. The Pittsburgh Pirates’ bullpen is the second bullpen, and is located the furthest from the field. The visiting team’s bullpen at PNC Park is the bullpen located closest to the field.

Like the other 29 Major League Baseball stadiums, PNC Park has added additional netting around the infield to better protect fans from the foul balls that often leave the field. The netting at PNC Park now extends from sections 9 to 24. The netting, however, doesn’t impact fans’ view of the field to a great extent.

  • Sections 235 through 238 (rows A through R)

Unlike Wrigley Field and Yankee Stadium, the bleacher seats at PNC Park are metal but have seat backs, and are more comfortable. However, they do not have cup holders and do not provide fans with a view of the outfield scoreboard.
