To give you an idea what the view of the ice is like from section 216, here is a Youtube video shot from there during a Canadiens/Philadelphia Flyers game.
The main appeal about this section is that it's private, on the same side of the ice as the Canadiens attack zone and features free food in the ticket price. The view is also very serviceable though the corners are suspect compared to other locations in the arena. We saw the Habs take on the LA Kings two seasons ago and it was a great matchup. Habs fans treat every game like a playoff game, their passion runs that deep. Unfortunately, this arena appeals more to the upper middle and upper class. Like Toronto Maple Leafs fans, a lot of the true fans have been priced out of the games which is why you will find a lot of them in the 300 and 400 level sections.
If you still plan on going to eat or drink before the game even though the food in section 216 is free, check out Hurley's Irish Pub on Rue Crescent.
