124 is a good infield box seat although it's very rarely in the shade for day games. I've seen a number of games in this section, including a Giants game in which I got absolutely fried by the sun. I would say rows 14-26 would be the most ideal for the average fan but if you want to sit right down next to the Rockies dugout, buy your tickets in any row below row 10.
Coors Field is a neat place; it's the MLB's first ballpark in the Mountain Time Zone, how cool is that? So if you're visiting Denver to see the Rockies, the game start times may start at odd times to accomodate the east/west audiences. Overall, the atmosphere is very laid back, I love it here.
