You may be skeptical about sitting behind the backboard but section 324 was much better than I had expected. Fans only sit on the balcony level to save money on tickets but the view was solid! The balcony level is still only the 2nd level since the club seats are on the first level.
Had no trouble following the basketball and flow of the game even though we were near the top (row 13).
The entrance tunnel is at the foot of the balcony level so if your seats are in the "teen" rows, you will have a few steps to climb but the stair climbing was nothing too extreme. Plenty of railing was available for fans and usually the usher will walk with you to show fans to their seats.
You can find tickets in 324 for $20 a ticket on most nights, just so you know so if you don't mind sitting here, you'll be able to see a high number of games without spending a ton of money.

Ps - Take the Commuter rail to the stadium. It will save you time and money but expect a long line to get on after the game.

To give you an idea what the view of the court is like from section 324, here is a Youtube video shot from there during a Celtics/Charlotte Bobcats game at the TD Garden.
