Where To Sit At Coors Field

Coors Field is a ballpark that set the precedent during the 1990’s for many other newer Major League ballparks that would follow along with Progressive Field and Camden Yards. At the time Coors Field debuted, many MLB and NFL teams were sharing cookie-cutter stadiums that offered poor sightlines for baseball and a bland fan experience. The Colorado Rockies played their first two seasons (1993 & 1994) at the old Mile High Stadium with the Denver Broncos. The Colorado Rockies debuted at Coors Field in 1995.

Coors Field Seating Chart, Colorado Rockies.

Coors Field is not a ballpark that makes the headlines very often compared to other Major League Baseball stadiums like Wrigley Field, Fenway Park and Dodger Stadium. The Rockies are largely considered a small market baseball team and never set any MLB attendance records. However, the venue is an excellent place to spend a summer evening in Denver; especially if you like seeing home runs. Coors Field is one of the most home run friendly ballparks in Major League Baseball.

Our staff wanted to provide baseball fans with a breakdown of the Coors Field seating chart so that they’ll have a better idea about which seats to purchase for Colorado Rockies games. We’ll start with the Infiniti Club seating area, formerly called the Coors Clubhouse or Coors Club.

Infiniti Club

View of Coors Field from the Infiniti Club. Home of the Colorado Rockies.

The Infiniti Club seats are the most expensive seats at Coors Field and consist of sections A through F. The perks for the Infiniti Club include

  • Wider and more comfortable seats
  • A complimentary pre-game buffet and free food from a set menu
  • A waitstaff that will bring food and drinks to your seats
  • Complimentary parking passes

The only downside to the Infiniti Club seats is that fans are required to purchase tickets in quantities of four which would easily exceed $1,000 per game. Big corporations often purchase seats in the Infiniti Club seating area as season tickets and give them away to important clients or entertain their in-town guests. Infiniti Club seats are very difficult to come by, even on secondary ticket market websites like StubHub.

Lower Level

The lower level seats at Coors Field are separated into three different price points and those are of course, subject to change in the future. They include the infield box seats, the midfield box seats and the outfield box seats.

  • Infield Box. The infield box seats at Coors Field include sections 120 through 141. This seating area extends from first base to third base and are the best non-premium seats at Coors Field. Ticket prices will increase the closer your section is to Homeplate.
  • Midfield Box. The midfield box seats at Coors Field include sections 118 and 119 down the first base side and sections 142 and 143 down the third base side. These will be the sections that sit right next to where the infield dirt meets the grass of the outfield.
  • Outfield Box. The outfield box seats are located in the lower level corners of Coors Field and include sections 110 through 117 and sections 144 through 150. The outfield box seats are the best seats to catch foul balls at Coors Field and are some of the most affordable seats on the stadium’s lower level.

Row 38 will be the last row in all lower level sections. Most sections will begin with row 1. Row 5 is the first row in the infield box seats behind each team’s dugout.

Club Level

The club level at Coors Field, also often called the Wells Fargo Club, includes sections 214 through 227 and sections 234 through 247. The club level seats are separated into two price points; the club level infield and the club level outfield. Fans with club level tickets will have the following perks.

    • A waitstaff that will bring food and drinks to your seats
    • Excellent sightlines of the playing field below
    • Access to two full-service bars
    • Protection from the weather
    • Access to private restrooms and concessions with shorter waits

Fans that hold tickets to the private suites will also be able to access the Wells Fargo Club area. The club level sections will all have 13 rows of seats in each section. The rows are numbered 1 through 13.

Pavilion

Photo of Coors Field from the pavilion level. Home of the Colorado Rockies.

The pavilion seats at Coors Field include sections 151 through 160 and are located in left-center field. The pavilion seats are some of the best seats to catch home runs at Coors Field; especially from right-handed batters. There are two downsides to sitting in the pavilion seats. One is that the scoreboard will be behind you during the game and you’ll have to turn completely around to check it. If you’re in the later rows, you won’t be able to see what’s on the scoreboard at all.

The pavilion seats are also metal bleachers but at least have backs to them unlike the Rockpile seats in upper center field. The pavilion seats also have no cup holders. The pavilion seats will have between 20 and 23 rows of seats in each section. Row 2 will be the first row in most pavilion sections.

Rockpile

Photo of Coors Field from the Rockpile. Home of the Colorado Rockies.

The Rockpile seats are the bleacher sections at Coors Field and include sections 401, 402 and 403. The Rockpile seats do not have cup holders and seat backs and are similar to what you’d find at a high school football stadium. The Rockpile seats are located in upper center field and are very far from the infield. However, they are the perfect alternative for fans that don’t want to sit on the reserve level at Coors Field or spend a ton of money on tickets. The rows in the Rockpile sections are numbered 1 through 32. All three sections have 32 rows of seats.

Right Field Box

Photo of Coors Field from the rightfield box seats. Home of the Colorado Rockies.

The right field box seats include sections 105 through 109 and are located in the outfield and near the right field foul pole. Fans with tickets in section 105 will have an excellent view of each team’s bullpens to their right. The right field box seats are the second-best seating area to catch home runs at Coors Field; especially from left-handed batters. However, the right field walls at Coors Field are very high and these seats do not sit as close to the field as they look on the Coors Field seating chart. The rows in the right field box sections are numbered 2 through 14.

Right Field Mezzanine

The right field mezzanine seats include sections 201 through 209. Sections 201 through 204 are the seats that sit directly above the bullpens in right center field. Sections 201-203 will only have 6 rows of seats in each section so they’re very small sections. Most sections in the right field mezzanine seating area will have roughly 17 rows of seats, numbered 1 through 17.

Reserved Level

Photo of Coors Field from the reserve level. Home of the Colorado Rockies.

The reserved seats at Coors Field include sections 301 through 347. The reserved level is organized into five different price points and those arrangements could change in the future. They include

  • Lower reserved infield
  • Upper reserved infield
  • Lower reserved outfield
  • Upper reserved outfield

Row 25 will be the last row for most sections on the reserved level. If you’re looking for tickets on the reserved level, shoot for rows 1 through 6 because those are considered “lower reserve” and won't have nearly as many steps to climb.

Rooftop

The rooftop is a standing room only area at Coors Field and is located above sections 301-309 in the upper level portion of the outfield seats. The rooftop is one of the most popular areas of the stadium and provides fans with access to the Coors Light Silver Bullet Bar as well as the CHUburger concession stand. All fans inside the stadium are able to access the rooftop which also offers standing room only tickets for $15. For select games, fans with standing room only tickets will be able to sit in sections 310 through 314 on a first come, first serve basis.

Captain’s Deck

Photo of Coors Field from the Captain's Deck. Home of the Colorado Rockies.

The Captain’s Deck is a private seating area located on the mezzanine level of Coors Field and beneath the Rooftop. Fans can purchase tickets for the Captain’s Deck as a group of as individual tickets. Amenities for the Captain’s Deck include

  • Reserved seats
  • Access to a full-service bar
  • Several flat screen televisions are scattered throughout the area for fans
  • Protection from the weather

The Colorado Rockies operate a dynamic pricing model for their tickets which means the price of tickets depends on the opponent and day of the game. Weekend games and games vs. teams like the Los Angeles Dodgers will be more expensive than tickets for Arizona Diamondbacks games. Like all other Major League ballparks, the Colorado Rockies have extended the netting at Coors Field to ensure greater fan safety. The new netting system sits in front of sections 126 through 135. The first base side of Coors Field will receive the most sunlight during day games while the third base side will receive more shade.

If you’ve never been to a Colorado Rockies game at Coors Field, you’re missing out on a hidden gem in Major League Baseball. The Coors Field experience will improve in upcoming years when the proposed mixed-use development is completed.
