To give you an idea what the view of the ice is like from section 310, here is a Youtube video shot from there before a Stars/Phoenix Coyotes game at the American Airlines Center.
Loved my seats. This was my first time to American Airlines Center when I sat in row G of this section vs. the Anaheim Ducks. I could see everything just fine, I don't much about hockey but when I was buying them online and looking at the seating map, I wanted the most centralized section in the arena and 310 is what I got. 310 is one upper level section that will be hard for you to dislike.
One thing I would never recommend doing is wearing a t shirt or shorts to a Stars game, even in the mild fall or spring weather. Because the ice must stay cold, so must the air. Bundle up when you go to a hockey game in any arena.
Just outside of this section and down the hall is a 'Pizza Patron' where you can get pizza, cheese sticks, ice cream. They also have a slurpee concession nearby 310 as well. Of course, the arena has partnered with Levy restaurants, so you know the concessions will be quality.
