Soldier Field has been my shrine since I was a small boy. I've sat in the south end zone many times. Have sat in section 125 at least once that I remember and that was for the Bengals game at the beginning of this season, the home opener. If you're going to sit in the end zones at Soldier Field, the lower end zones are the only way to go in my opinion. First of all, the seats are tiny here. If you're the least bit over weight or have a large frame, sit somewhere else. The view isn't the greatest but we've always been happy sitting that close to the action. 125 was right on the out of bounds line but we had a nice angle looking towards midfield and could see all of the Bears' substitutions first hand.
If you want the ultimate Bears experience, you're not going to get it from the upper level, plain and simple although the view of the Chicago skyline from the 400s is beautiful.
The Soldier Field staff has always been very helpful and efficient so my hat goes off to them for always making everyone's experience a good one. Go Bears!!!

To give you an idea what the view of the field is like from section 125, here is a Youtube video shot from there before a Bears/Seattle Seahawks game at Soldier Field.
