117 was situated into two portions of seating. The triple lettered rows (AAA, BBB, etc.)sit down nearest the court and only have four seats per row and are separated into three aisles of seats. Hard to explain, you'll have to see if for yourself.
Any seat in triple lettered rows are going to be foldout chairs. The seats behind it are permanent seats.
The higher you sit, the more you'll be able to see the other end of the floor though not always. If you're looking for a bargain on the lower level, sections like 116-117 and 105-106 are good seats for the money.

There aren't really any bad seats at the Verizon Center as long as you're not afraid of heights (upper bowl). The sound is quality and the arena has all of the amenities that you would need. But it has no history and nothing really to separate it from the other 28 NBA arenas.
