We sat in row 6 for a game last year. Row 6 will be the 3rd row if you don't count the 5 rows of courtside seats down in front. The courtside seats are all foldout chairs that don't have any cup holders but are usually leather but don't look much roomier. Our seats were also behind the Nuggets bench which was a mere 20 feet away. If you sit in the last 10 or so rows, you will be able to see the entire floor much better since section 20 doesn't sit parallel with the court; it sits just past the baseline. If you haven't been to the arena in a few years, they finally upgraded from the old scoreboard and also added four smaller screens in each corner of the upper level. The upper level fans I know appreciate it.

If you're not taking the TRAX to the game, the Park Place parking garage is where you should park. It sits in between North and South Temple Streets. If you're looking for a nice game day meal, look no further than Copper Canyon Grill, Fleming's Steakhouse or maybe Texas de Brazil. City Creek Center also has a Cheesecake Factory which has a very diverse menu.

To give you an idea what the view of the court is like from section 20, here is a Youtube video shot from there before a Jazz/Phoenix Suns game at EnergySolutions Arena.

If you only want to sit on the lower level, section 20 will do for just about any fan. I don't like the angle on the court though, I think the corners at NBA arenas are less than desirable. I prefer being closer to mid court but that may be everyone.
Tickets are often in the $40-$60 range which is affordable. Be sure you take the light rail to the arena, parking is horrendous unless you're staying at one of the downtown Salt Lake hotels.
