Saw the Tigers play the Cleveland Indians FROM THIS SEAT and loved it. 117 sat just past the first baseman in the outfield area so it will give you the opportunity to see both the infield and outfield quiet well. The Indians dugout was just a few sections from us to the left so sections 118 and 119 is a good spot for autographs from those guys before the game.

The exterior of Comerica Park is beautiful, I think the kids will love the giant Tigers outside of Gate A. This place still feels brand new, and when the city builds around it, it will never look outdated with the downtown Detroit buildings in the distance. The concourse with its kiosks is a nice touch and they include every era of Detroit and its baseball heritage. The statues in the right center field area of Ty Cobb, Willie Horton and Al Kaline or absolutely amazing but don't have the same touch as the Gordie Howe statues at Joe Louis Arena, home of the Red Wings.

I also think your kids will not only love Paws the mascot but also the ferris wheel (free on Sundays) and the carousel. Sure, it makes this place seem like a carnival but the organization had to add these modern features to fit in with all of the other ballparks being erected across the country.

To give you an idea what the view of the field is like from section 117, here is a Youtube video shot from there during a Tigers/Oakland A's game at Comerica Park.
