To give you an idea what the view of the ice is like from section 229, here is a Youtube video shot from row D (seat 2) at a Penguins/Edmonton Oilers game.

Not bad seats at all. I sat in row L which was only a few rows from the top. The stairs to the seats were a little steep but not unbearable.
There are great sight lines all over the arena. I attended plenty of games at the Igloo and this place just has that brand new feel with very little history in this place thus far. It just feels different in a bad way although the arena itself is a spectacle and the fans still love their Penguins.
