To give you an idea what the view of the ice is like from section 106, here is a Youtube video shot from there during an intermission at a Stars game at American Airlines Center.

I have been to two or three Stars and Mavericks games since moving to Dallas and it's going to be hard to top the experience I had in 106. When you're dead center ice, you don't need to adjust yourself in your seats whatsoever. The players just glide up and down the ice and you get to sit back and sip on your beer and relax. It's a great time.

The corners are great if you like the fights and the beginning stages of the fights. Very rarely will the fights move to center ice where section 106 is.

As for the area outside of section 106, it's definitely among the upper tier in terms of the arenas I've been to.AAC is fairly easy to navigate. The corridors are wide and everything is clean. And there are plenty of options for overpriced food and severely overpriced food. One small downside is the lack of a liquor license that prevents them from selling anything except beer and wine on the main corridors. Not sure if that has changed for 2012-2013.
