I normally hate the end zone seats for football games but section 401 was still only on the 2nd tier above the field level seats so we were much closer to the field than I had anticipated being. All of the seats are colored Colt blue which is a beautiful color scheme when the stadium is empty. There were 22 rows total. I remember these being excellent for viewing the kickoff returns because we could see where the holes were in the special teams defense. You'll be able to see the entire field better from here than you will from the field level end zone seats where the view is less than stellar. Also loved how sitting underneath the North Window, a lot of natural light from the outside shined in on us and at least made us feel somewhat like we were outdoors. You'll never have to worry about the weather when coming to Colts games but I'm still anticipating seeing a game with the roof open. I hear it's a sight to see.
We stayed at the Crowne Plaza down the street from the stadium so we didn't have to worry about gameday parking which was nice. There are tons of other great hotels in the area too like the JW Marriott and the Omni Severin.

To give you an idea what the view of the field is like from section 401, here is a Youtube video shot from row 7 before a Colts game at Lucas Oil Stadium.
