To give you an idea what the view of the court is like from section 417, here is a Youtube video shot from there during a Wizards/New York Knicks game at the Verizon Center.

417 was one of those sections that feels close visually but not physically if you know what I mean.

The upper level seats are skinny and uncomfortable to the larger fans like myself. The price for Wizards tickets makes up for the discomfort. You can get these seats for $10 or $15 a piece for games vs. poor teams like the Bobcats, Timberwolves and Bucks. Every NBA is a great game to go to though so you have no excuse to skip the Verizon Center.

The rows were lettered A-M. I've had the very last row before, row M and it wasn't nearly as bad as I would have thought. That was for a game vs. the Chicago Bulls. I can tell you that row A in the upper level will typically have some type of railing or plexiglass partially in your view so those may not be the best seats for the money.
