Great venue for Wizards basketball! Even better for hockey. The two crowds that attend games for these two teams couldn't be more different. Wizards games can't even compare.
I would suggest getting your Wizards tickets on Stubhub or another website like it since face value for these seats is absurd. I would never pay $25 to sit in the upper deck. I purchased two seats in 432 for $15 and that was reasonable.

The rows are very tight. Our knees were touching the back of the row in front but I think that's the standard at most of the arenas throughout the country these days. You've got to shell out more money for comfort and proximity to the action.
The Verizon Center has the best access for fans compared to Fedex Field and Nationals Ball Park. Adjacent to the Gallery Place light rail stop and Chinatown as well; you can get there at $10 round trip more than likely depending on where you're coming from.
