This area used to be called "the beach" but it's a party deck area named after the local newspaper now, just like the hockey arena in Tampa. The seats were very uncomfortable; no backs to them whatsoever. Your actual location is about as far from home plate as you could be and the view puts you almost eye level with the cat walks up top.
If you just want to check out a Rays game without breaking the bank, the party deck isn't all that bad but it wasn't a very intimate experience for baseball - very easy to forget about what's going on down there.
