Sat here for my first Phillies game of the 2013 season vs. the Miami Marlins. Have been to 100+ games since Citizens Bank opened back in 2004 and have yet to encounter a seat I didn't like. I'm also very selective about where I sit too.
301 is a little removed from the field, just didn't feel "close" but seeing the path of the baseball was very easy. The jumbotron allows fans to keep up with which players are which and who is coming up to bat. First timers may have a hard time finding your seats but the stair case in Ashburn alley is the closest access point. There are also various elevators available but I don't know their locations too well.

Perhaps what I liked most was being able to look out to our right and see downtown Philadelphia in the distance. It's a shame it can't be more of a backdrop but they had the right idea. Even for the fans that stay downtown when visiting, the Sports Complex can be easily reached via the Broad Street subway system.
If you're looking for these seats online, they'll be listed under the 'Pavilion Deck'. Expect to pay about $15-$25 for a ticket. The stair cases leading up to your seats are a little steep but there are maybe only 20 rows in all to climb if you get stuck in the very last row.

To give you an idea what the view of the field is like from section 301, here is a Youtube video shot from row 1, seat 1 during a Phillies/New York Mets game at Citizens Bank Park.
