Have been to 11 MLB ballparks around the country. Citi Field hasn't been my favorite but it's a solid ballpark and is definitely worth seeing. It's much better than the old Shea Stadium, the Mets' home for over 30 years and is modeled after Ebbets Field, home of the Brooklyn Dodgers. The organization also given tribute to the Dodgers with it's jackie Robinson Rotunda. Was a beautiful entrance!

We chose 514 because it seemed like a great section for the money and it didn't break the bank. I was right. Our knees didn't touch the seats in front, had plenty of space. It was very easy to follow the path of the baseball from these seats. The view of the field could have only got better with seats closer to the field. Unfortunately, if you want to sit behind home plate at Citi Field on the main level, you're going to have to pay for "club seats" that have all kinds of bells and whistles that you don't need to enjoy a game. They've got all kinds of them too; Delta Club, Caesar's Club, Hyundai Club. What's wrong with just having regular reserved seats?

There are a bunch of great concessions but Blue Smoke and the shake Shack seem to be the most popular at Citi Field. I didn't get to sample either.

To give you an idea what the view of the field is like from section 514, here is a Youtube video shot from there before a Mets game at Citi Field.
