Sat here for my first Astros game and would be fine sitting here for every game. It's the perfect sight line with a symmetrical view of the field. The Astros side was down the first base side and the Brewers used the third base side of the field for their dugout. Center field is super deep at Minute Maid Park but being so high up it doesn't seem nearly as deep. That says a lot.
The rows were assigned 1 thru 17. I wouldn't say there isn't a bad seat but the first 5 rows are where you want to sit in 419. Even on weak turnout nights, this section will be semi-full since it's the most sought after seat on the view deck.
If you do end up sitting here. Look for Prince's Hamburgers outside of your section. They serve milkshakes!
The roof is often closed but you can check the status of whether it will be open or not on the Astros website. Just search around for "Roof Report". When it's open, this place definitely feels much more like a ballpark and less like an airplane hangar. This is the perfect place to bring a family; a very fan friendly ballpark!

To give you an idea what the view of the field is like from section 419, here is a time-lapsed Youtube video shot from there during an Astros game at Minute Maid Park.
