If you want autographs from the team that's playing the Red Sox, you will want to stand outside of Field Box 70 before the game and during batting practice. You may not get the prime time player's autograph but you'll get some.
The sections themselves are just as small as the seats. Small and choppy; much like Dodger Stadium in LA. Go to a new ballpark like Minute Maid Park and there will be 20 seats assigned to a row. It's like day and night.

There are a good bit of ground level seats that face center field rather than home plate. The architects weren't as knowledgeable back then as they are today. But at least this section doesn't have any obstructions. I've sat in the grandstand for many Red Sox games in the past and have been stuck behind large fans, beam poles, beer hawkers, you name it. But section 70 is a pretty safe bet, I think you'll like these seats. They're WICKED PISSAh!!!

To give you an idea what the view of the field is like from Field Box 70, here is a Youtube video shot from there during a Red Sox game at Fenway Park.
