221 is probably one of the most ideal places to sit in the entire arena. We didn't think much of it when purchasing our seats there, we just wanted a seat that was centrally located with a good view. 221 was one section away from the center line and on the second tier of seats. The cool thing about the second tier is that the sections are very small (get rows A-C if you can) and much more affordable than the first level. You can see the entire length of the ice without problems.
From 221, you can also see into both of the benches well since they're across the ice so you can see all of the shifts without obstruction. To sum it all up, I think you'll be very happy with section 221. The only disappointing thing I think you will find is if you visit the city and end up staying in downtown Ottawa. Then you have to discover a way to get out to the suburb of 'Kanata' for the game and there isn't much to do by the way of bars and restaurants out there either.

To give you an idea what the view of the ice is like from section 221, here is a Youtube video shot from there during a Senators/New York Rangers game.
