To give you an idea what the view of the ice is like from section 217, here is a Youtube video shot from there during a Canadiens/Chicago Blackhawks game.

If you prefer sitting in the Canadiens attack zone, these seats are just for you although it has a corner view which means you will be relying on the crowd's reaction to know if the puck went into the net or not. The Habs were playing the New York Islanders when we came here but the arena still had a playoff atmosphere as if they were playing the Leafs or New York Rangers.

Centre Bell is the only NHL arena to make bilingual announcements (I would imagine Nordiques games operated in a similar way). All penalties, goals, rulings and announcements are made in French first, and English second. Some fans could be annoyed by this, especially fans visiting from America. By the end of the game, you will have learned a little more French that what you had originally understood.
