To give you an idea what the view of the ice is like from section 202, here is a Youtube video shot from there during a Wild/Winnipeg Jets game.

If you just want a great view of the ice and don't have to be close to the glass, the 200s at the Xcel are great. Only two levels of seating so you're not high up in the rafters. The sections are very small and intimate which makes for a great family environment.
Tickets on the upper level are much cheaper which is a plus but don't expect to find bargains at the concessions.
As far as getting to the arena, you can generally find some free parking along West 7th.
