The mid level '200s' are my favorite sections to sit in for any event going on at the Staples Center.
I had 210 for game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals last season, row 2. They sit only a little further back and also higher up than the bottom level giving Kings fans the perfect line of sight. We were close enough to still make out all of the players but high up enough to have a bird's eye view of everything.

When you get to the arena, you have a wide variety of places to eat at as well as all of the bars and restaurants at LA Live outside of the arena. Everything will be expensive so bring a lot of cash. Camacho's Cantina is probably my favorite concession inside the arena but they also have California Pizza Kitchen.
Parking is expensive but easy. I don't think Los Angeles has as bustling of a downtown as people think it does; everything is so spread out.

To give you an idea what the view of the ice is like from section 210, here is a Youtube video shot from there during a Kings/Dallas Stars game at the Staples Center.
