Was fortunate enough to sit in row 1 of this section. The guard rail is extremely necessary to deter people that like to hang over things which is very dangerous but it was an inconvenience to everyone in the first rows of the balcony sections.

For that reason, you may be better off purchasing tickets in rows 3 and above so you can see over the railing.
