My husband and I used to own season tickets in 226 for one season before moving to Cleveland. Getting rid of them was no trouble, as you could imagine.
Any seat you buy in this section will seem a little "far" from the field but the pros definitely outweighed the cons. Much better than the upper level and the view is higher than the lower level end zone which allowed us to see the south side of the field better.
For 1pm games, these seats will also have a good bit of shade from the upper end zone overhang, especially in the last rows (M-Q). We also enjoyed sitting in a smaller section like this one. Made going to and from the breezeways very easy.
The concession lines move slowly but they're quality. There is a stand called 'Grid Iron Grill' near 226, they serve bratwurst, kielbasa, smoked sausage, bottled beer, all very expensive but all very good. If you're not tailgating and want to do the restaurant thing, Pittsburgh Grille and Sports Bar (neat Steelers mural) and Jerome Bettis' 36 Grille are two of our favorites. The wait will be long so for a 4pm game, I would get there at 1pm just to get a table.
The best food in the stadium itself can be found at the two staples; Quaker Steak and Lube (great wings!) and Primanti Bros. If you don't know want Primanti Brothers is, you need to Google it and visit the original in the Strip District.

To give you an idea what the view of the field is like from section 226, here is a Youtube video shot from there during a Steelers game at Heinz Field.
