I live in Hockey Country (Windsor Ontario) and I make it Ford Field for one or two Lions games a season. This place is immaculate and is definitely the best sports arena in the Detroit area.
237, row 3, seats 3&4 were our seats for a Lions/Vikings game two seasons ago (good thing I saved my ticket stub); 237 is on the middle corner of the stadium which offers the same view as the club seats for much less in price. The corners of the stadium still have a good view of the field down below. You'll still easily be able to read the players on the back of each player's jersey and follow their every move. The PA System had a crystal clear sound and didn't echo. The jumbo screens in each end zone also have perfect placement but fans would be at better advantage if they were bigger. If you've ever been to Soldier Field in Chicago, they have a jumbo in each end zone too about the same size. I love seeking refuge at this place when snow is on the ground; doubt Detroiters could tolerate an outdoor venue for football. People say that it's still cold inside Ford Field but I've always been able to just wear a t shirt or jersey during the game. Parking is absurdly expensive, $40 in most places, especially if you want to tailgate. Lions Tailgating is underrated compared to what many fan bases have, the Eastern Market lots have the best tailgating but will require you to walk a good bit in the cold to get to Ford Field. Give yourself plenty of time to make it through security.
