I've been to the Verizon Center many times in the past for concerts, Capitals games, and even a few WNBA games (Mystics). It's a busy arena with a lot of different events throughout the calendar year, that's for sure. Went to the Wizards/Magic game last season, it was a few days after Christmas because I received the tickets from a family member as a Christmas gift. Had a fun time. We were down near the bottom in row F which as it turns out may have not been the best seats if you want to be able to see the whole length of the court well. We were near one of the corner/tunnel areas and the boards they use for Capitals games were still in place so you can see kind of the outline of the hockey rink along the sides. These would probably be much better seats for Capitals games because so much action occurs in the corners of the rink; the hard checks and scrums, etc. For basketball games, fans should actually try to stay away from the corners because simply put, the view stinks. If you want a good central view and don't mind sitting higher up...sections 400 and 417 are perfect and cheaper areas.

To give you an idea what the view of the court is like from section 113, here is a Youtube video shot from there during a Wizards game at the Verizon Center.
