I had only been to Chesapeake Arena for concerts, never before a Thunder game until my girlfriend took me last season. They were playing the Clippers and we were about 15 rows from the floor which was perfect. The court looks much smaller than on tv when you sit that close. The Thunder's bench was down in front of our seats. Had plenty of space between each seat, never once felt crowded and the fans in our section and in the entire building as a whole were very friendly.
I loved how accessible this place is to Bricktown which is the prime party/dining area in downtown OKC. They have everything. One thing I didn't like about this place was how narrow the concourses were; it was shoulder to shoulder both before and after the game which I kind of understand since this place wasn't built with the Thunder in mind. They didn't come till a few years after this place had already opened. With that considered, the easiest entrance if your seats will be in 117 would be to take the entrance along Robinson street where the Jack Daniels Restaurant is.

117 is an excellent section to sit for a Thunder game. Our seats were behind the Thunder bench, though not directly. I was in row B thinking we would be in the second row but there are small courtside sections that encircle the floor first. So even row A isn't the first row, keep that in mind.

To give you an idea what the view of the court is like from section 117, here is a Youtube video shot from row J (seat 19) during a Thunder/New York Knicks game at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
