To give you an idea what the view of the court is like from section 301, here is a Youtube video shot from there during a Pelicans/Dallas Mavericks game at New Orleans Arena.

Section 301 was almost center court on the top level though not quiet. I saw the Hornets play the lowly New Jersey Nets last year (2011). Cheap tickets, no complaints, I wasn't expecting court-side seats full of amenities but what I got was a decent view of the game. We had row 3. In all, I think there were maybe 15 or 16 rows total, again, it was a small section. The seats weren't the most comfortable I've sat in but they get the job done. Had enough room for my knees although I despised this one fan in our row who seemed to want out every 5 or 10 minutes. Maybe he had an overactive bladder?

There are only two levels of seats at the New Orleans Arena, I know on the scale of 29 NBA arenas, it's one of the smallest so the views are quiet good from all over. Most of the fans were concentrated towards the center of the upper level as you could probably imagine so there was a lot of foot traffic in section 301 but I didn't mind it.

Expect the typical price gauged stadium food. It's unfair but it's a big money maker for these professional sports franchises. There is so much to eat and drink outside of the arena, you can really get away with not buying anything at the game and getting a $5 cheeseburger at a nearby restaurant. I will be going to more Hornets game this season and I wouldn't mind sitting in section 301 again and you shouldn't either.
