Section 102 had the perfect seats. They were immediately behind the Phoenix Suns bench when we came last February. We had row 8, seats 4 and 5. Not only will you be behind the visitors bench but you'll also be center court which is common knowledge as being the best seats in the arena.
These would be the ideal seats for an Avalanche game as well and I've been to plenty of those.
My only complaint is the hideous brown color of the seats. I realize the Avalanche have a little bit of Maroon in their uniforms but would a light blue be so bad so that it provides some character for both teams. Try going to Pittsburgh's Heinz Field and look at all of their yellow seats. It's intimidating.

102 was great seats, we sat in row 11. There are roughly 22 rows in this section. You're directly behind the scorer's table. Close to both team's benches.
Arena is above average overall.
