Section 117 was a no brainer. We made the drive from Detroit to Toronto to see the Tigers play the Jays and we wanted seats near the Tigers dugout. 117 is also close to first base too. We sat in row 24. The first set of seats in this section sit down in front are considered "premium" which is just a way for the organization to charge more money for those seats. I would try to avoid any seat past row 30 although those aren't bad at all.
My final impression of the Rogers Centre was a good one. Considering it had the first retractable roof among MLB ballparks, it's like a pioneer in this generation of venues. There is a lot of concrete and I would have liked to have seen more festiveness amongst the fans (this is Hockey country) but it's a good place to visit for a game just to say you've visited it.
Most importantly, there was a Cold Stone Creamery just outside of this section although the ice cream is probably twice as expensive as what you pay at your local Cold Stone. From what I understand, there used to be a Hard Rock Cafe and North America's largest Mcdonald's at the Rogers Centre but those have since closed down.

To give you an idea what the view of the field is like from section 117, here is a Youtube video shot from the first few rows during the 7th inning stretch at a Blue Jays game.
