245 is just below the club suites if you've ever sat in one of those for a game. It's deep in right center field which makes for a very un-intimate experience at the ballpark. My entire group felt kind of disconnected from the action and the fan atmosphere is often just dead unless the A's are making a playoff push like they did last year.

No home run balls will be hit near your seats, even walking in the concourse can see unusual because there are often very few fans bustling through there in the outfield. If you buy tickets for 245, you will more than likely be able to sit in any seat you want, the ushers are usually pretty laid back about it and don't check tickets as often as they should.
The fans sitting in this area are great and are very friendly - I don't care what you've heard about Oakland sports fans.

I always take the BART to the game even though you'll encounter your string of shady characters on your commute. There is a long entrance way leading from the BART to the stadium which makes things very convenient. But if you want to drive to the game, parking is $17 (who came up with the number) and tailgating is allowed. Although tailgating for Raiders games is where it's at!

To give you an idea what the view of the field is like from section 245, here is a Youtube video shot from row 14 during an A's/Detroit Tigers game at O.co Coliseum.
