The New Jersey Devils have launched the William Hill Sports Lounge at the Prudential Center where fans will be able to bet on sports via the William Hill smartphone app. New Jersey recently became one of the few states in the U.S. to offer legalized sports betting; Nevada being the first. The New Jersey Devils are expected to generate more than $5M in sports betting related partnerships during the 2018-2019 NHL season alone.

The William Hill Sports Lounge will feature more than 20 televisions with live games, as well as a full-service bar. William Hill will have signage scattered throughout the Prudential Center including a dasher board on the ice. Betting odds for other NHL games will be featured on the Prudential Center scoreboard during intermissions, and will receive recognition as a sponsor of line changes on the ice. The NHL will not allow William Hill to add betting windows and kiosks inside the Prudential Center.

The New Jersey Devils are the 2nd NHL team William Hill has partnered with. The other, being the Vegas Golden Knights. William Hill currently operates more than 100 sportsbook locations in the state of Nevada. The sports betting industry anticipates mobile sports betting to explode in popularity over the next five years and will generate millions of dollars in additional revenue for related industries. In fact, some experts believe New Jersey will even be able to surpass Nevada in terms of sports betting revenue. It can almost be guaranteed that the New Jersey Devils won’t be the last NHL team to form partnerships with sports betting entities.
