The Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Pistons will no longer be accepting tickets from fans that have been printed at home. Both teams have introduced mobile ticketing at Little Caesars Arena to better protect fans from counterfeit and fraudulent tickets. All fans will now be required to use a mobile device to gain entry to Red Wings and Pistons home games.The mobile ticketing technology they’ll be using was created by Ticketmaster.
The District Detroit App is the most efficient way for fans to manage their Detroit Red Wings tickets, according to a spokesman from Olympia Entertainment. Detroit Pistons fans are encouraged to download the Detroit Pistons app to access their tickets for Pistons home games. Any fan without a smartphone is asked to call 313-471-7929 before attending Detroit Pistons and Detroit Red Wings home games. The Little Caesars Arena box office staff will then make arrangements to provide you with a printed ticket.
Professional sports teams such as the Baltimore Ravens have rolled out mobile ticketing at their home stadiums. Many teams believe mobile ticketing is much more convenient in helping fans transfer and re-sale their tickets at the last minute. Mobile ticketing also means Detroit Pistons and Detroit Red Wings season ticket holders will no longer receive printed books of tickets at the beginning of each season. The Detroit Red Wings will send a single commemorative season ticket to each season ticket holder; their season tickets will be uploaded to their individual Ticketmaster account.
