The Arizona Coyotes allowed their fans to come onto the ice at Gila River Arena this past Sunday to paint personalized messages onto the ice. The gesture was a thank you to fans for their support throughout the 2017-2018 NHL season and resembles an event the Minnesota Wild offered to their fans back in 2014. The event was also an effort to increase season ticket sales for the 2018-2019 NHL season. Afterward, fans were encouraged to share their paintings on social media.

Season tickets for certain upper level sections at Gila River Arena can be had for just under $700 per ticket which is a great deal. You’ll pay a similar price for a single game ticket in some of the larger NHL markets like Montreal, Toronto and Chicago. Current season ticket holders were given first dibs to paint the Gila River Arena ice followed by regular fans.

The Arizona Coyotes have been pursuing funding for a new arena in the Phoenix Metro area but have been unsuccessful. There were whispers that the Coyotes could even share Talking Stick Resort Arena with the Phoenix Suns but those rumors were nixed pretty quickly. Gila River Arena is a modern arena that isn't lacking in any popular amenities for fans. Nevertheless, it still appears that the Arizona Coyotes’ days at Gila River Arena are numbered.
