After finishing the 2017 season near the bottom of Major League Baseball’s attendance standings, the Baltimore Orioles are making a family-friendly offer to fans this season. The promotion is called “Kids Cheer Free” and will run the entire 2018 season. For every upper level ticket sold, an adult will be given two free tickets if they’re accompanied by children under the age of 9.

Upper level tickets at Oriole Park at Camden Yards are priced from $15 to $35. The Arizona Diamondbacks have offered a similar promotion at Chase Field in the past. However, the Baltimore Orioles will be the first Major League Baseball team to offer the promotion for an entire season. The only downside is that tickets will not be able to be purchased far in advance; they’re only available on a month by month basis. Ticket orders are also limited to 12 tickets. The Baltimore Orioles will also be adding a kid’s corner to Gate C at Camden Yards which will feature

  • Moon bounce.
  • Jungle gym.
  • Skee-ball.
  • A lounge area for parents.

Major League Baseball is making a strong effort to make baseball more appealing to younger generations. The league is currently struggling to attract "millennials" to games. Free tickets will give Baltimore area parents more opportunities to bring their children to Orioles games. Especially when school is out for the summer.
