FedExForum, home of the Memphis Grizzlies, are currently adding a new high definition scoreboard as well as four large video displays in the corners of the arena. These upgrades are expected to be complete in time for the beginning of the 2017-2018 NBA season. At the moment, FedExForum is the only NBA arena that doesn’t offer high definition video technology for their fans.

The new center-hung scoreboard will be four times the size as the previous scoreboard. It will also be borderless and offer 360-degree views of the media being displayed. The installation and purchase of the scoreboard technology will be paid for in a joint-partnership between the Memphis Grizzlies, Shelby County and City of Memphis. Additional upgrades to FedExForum will include a new digital scorer’s table at center court. New ribbon displays will also completely circle the arena. The concession stands will feature brand new digital menu boards. Outside of FedExForum, the Grizzlies organization is installing a large video board that faces Beale Street and will be located above the FedExForum administration building.

Daktronics, a giant in the video technology field, will oversee the installation of all of the new technology at FedExForum. Daktronics is also currently overseeing similar installations at Heinz Field, home of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Ford Field, home of the Detroit Lions.
