The Carolina Panthers unveiled a $47 million upgrade to Bank of America Stadium this weekend during Fan Fest. Local taxpayers contributed $17 million towards the project. The renovation was the fourth phase of a five-year renovation plan that totals $170 million in costs and has taken place each off-season. The various phases of renovations were aimed at helping the Carolina Panthers organization generate new revenue streams and improve the fan experience at the stadium.

Many stadiums in the National Football League are improving their stadium offerings to keep up with the rest of the league and avoid building a new stadium altogether. The main level concourse of Bank of America Stadium was renovated in a similar fashion to the upper level concourse which was renovated last season. The main concourse now has more concession offerings including a craft beer stand as well as new standing tables. The Panthers organization have also renovated the club levels which consists of the 300 and 400 level seating areas. The club areas now have new televisions, furniture, carpet, tile and LED lighting. The 300 level also now offer four suite terraces that seat 28 fans in each suite and are sold as PSL's (personal seat licenses).

On the 400 level of Bank of America Stadium, the Panthers have added a bar and seating area that overlooks the 300 level. The Panthers also made improvements to the playing field at Bank of America Stadium by installing a new irrigation system and re-sodding the grass and adding new soil. The on-field improvements cost a total of $800,000 to complete.

Other renovations that have been completed in recent years include renovated club-level suites that now have retractable windows and brand new high-definition televisions. New video boards, ribbon boards, escalators, sound systems and exterior stadium lighting were also added throughout the stadium. Next off-season, the Carolina Panthers will be improving the ticketing and box office area outside of Bank of America Stadium as well as adding a new technology facility on Mint Street.
