Where To Sit At Oriole Park At Camden Yards

Oriole Park at Camden Yards is widely considered to be one of the best ballparks in Major League Baseball. In fact, Camden Yards set the tone for the way Major League ballparks would be designed following the cookie-cutter stadium era of the 1970s and 1980s. Other groundbreaking ballparks built around the same time as Oriole Park at Camden Yards include Coors Field (Colorado Rockies) and Progressive Field (Cleveland Indians).

What makes Oriole Park at Camden Yards so unique is the way the Baltimore Orioles integrated historic parts of downtown Baltimore into the stadium. The B&O Warehouse beyond the outfield wall is easily the most notable and widely recognized feature of the ballpark. Eutaw Street which runs beyond the outfield stadium gates is a popular area for fans to congregate before and after games with it’s street vendors, bars and restaurants. On Eutaw Street, fans will find plaques marking famous home runs hit at Oriole Park at Camden Yards and the distance the ball traveled. The Baltimore Waterfront/Inner Harbor and Babe Ruth Museum are also just a few blocks away.

Other Notes

The Baltimore Orioles use the dugout on the first base side and the visiting team use the dugout on the third base side. The bullpens are located adjacent to section 86 in left center field. The Baltimore Orioles pitchers use the bullpen closest to the field and the visiting team use the bullpen directly behind it. Before the 2018 Major League Baseball season, all 30 MLB teams added more netting to better protect fans from objects that leave the field. The new netting system at Oriole Park at Camden Yards now extends from section 16 to section 58 around the infield. In other words, the netting doesn't just protect the seats behind home plate, it now surpasses each dugout.

The Baltimore Orioles have been struggling to draw large crowds to Oriole Park at Camden Yards and have been consistently finishing in the bottom quarter of Major League Baseball’s attendance rankings. In fact, during the 2018 Major League Baseball season, they offered free reserve level admission to children under 9 when an adult purchased a regular-priced ticket. Talk about desperation. Following the 2015 police riots, many baseball fans seem to no longer feel safe coming to downtown Baltimore for games. The NFL's Baltimore Ravens are also struggling with their home attendance.

However, make no mistake about it, Oriole Park at Camden Yards is still one of the most beautiful ballparks in Major League Baseball and isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Stay tuned for our staff’s official review of Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
