Sat here for my very first LA Kings game in 2011 when I first moved to LA. I'm a transplanted die hard Red Wings fan so I saw the Kings vs. the Red Wings. Love that I can count on seeing them once or twice a season every year; we love our hockey in Detroit. My tickets were in row 6 and that's maybe the closest I've ever sat to the glass for an NHL game. And wow. You definitely get to experience what the NHL is all about because all of the hard hits are right in front of you. I love seeing the players battle hard for the puck during the scrums, it's usually where you will encounter a fight too because tension builds when the puck is near the net.
109 is a great section, hands down a great experience.
To give you an idea what the view of the ice is like from section 109, here is a Youtube video shot from there during a Kings/St. Louis Blues game at the Staples Center.
