Loved section 312 though it's not nearly as exciting of a place to sit as the lower level or even the Putnam Club below. Our seats were almost just as good as the upper level midfield seats though; we were at the 20 yard marker. The Patriots always have a strong passing game so you want a seat higher up to see the plays form the best. The first 7 rows are definitely the best and won't require you to climb any stairs to get to your seats. Instead, you'll climb down and this makes you just a quick jump from the third level concourse.
If you're in the mood for Pizza, look no further than Papa Gino's at "Boston Common". They have a few neat little specialty food stands up there but the variety of food is less than stellar. Highly recommend Capriotti's Sandwiches at Patriot Place outside of the stadium. If that doesn't sound appealing, you can never go wrong with Five Guys Burgers, also at Patriot Place.

I must also warn you of the dangers of driving to a Patriots game from Boston the day of the game. Give yourself a four or five hour window. The parking lots open up four hours before game time so you'll have time to shop and eat at one of the many Patriot Place restaurants like Blue Fin or Skipjack's and maybe do some shopping. It's more like an outdoor mall area than anything but you don't want to be 30 miles from Foxborough an hour before game time because you just won't get to the game on time. And guess what? Once you arrive, you get to pay them $40 to park amongst thousands of other cars and the process getting out is even slower.
The commuter rail from Boston runs slowly but is only open for Patriots games and never for any of the other events like Revolution games (soccer) or concerts.

To give you an idea what the view of the field is like from section 312, here is a Youtube video shot from there during a Patriots/Baltimore Ravens game at Gillette Stadium.
