Went to the Texans game this past January, 1st game of the playoffs for the Pats. We were about 6 rows up; the closest to the field I've sat at a Patriots game. I've been to two or three games a season since the place opened but have never been able to purchase season seats.

I wouldn't be discouraged from these seats because they're in the end zone; you'll be very happy with your seat selection here. They sit really close to the field and the walls aren't very high above the field. Your seats won't be behind either goal post either so 123 gives a clear view of the field without obstruction. The only downside was having the scoreboard to our backs, so unless you want to turn around every time to see a replay, you'll have to refer to the scoreboard on the opposite end of the playing field. They're both filled with advertisements so the actual screen is much smaller than you would think. But the PA system was crystal clear with no echo.

These seats are on the opposite side of the stadium from the Patriot Place gate. So on your way into the game, enter through the Ubid.Com Gate on the North end of the stadium. Veer to the left and you'll see the entrance to section 123 ahead, you can't miss it.
There will be significantly less fans at the Ubid.Com entrance than the Patriot Place Gate on the South end so the pat down process will be easier and it'll be quicker getting in.

To give you an idea what the view of the field is like from section 123, here is a Youtube video shot from there before a Patriots game at Gillette Stadium.
