This is a pretty neat little section. Gets lots of shade due to it's location in the far corner of the middle end zone. Provides a similar view to what the fans on the United level get but are significantly cheaper seats. The United Club sits just to the left of 256, you'll be able to "spy" on a lot of those fans throughout the game.
The visitors tunnel is in front of this section down on the field so make sure to chuck a few snow balls at Aaron Rodgers and Matthew Stafford as they exit the field (Bears fans are classier than that).
Best thing about these seats? The wind doesn't hit you as bad. The lake is just outside of Soldier Field. Worst? You're at the far end of the field and can only see one jumbo tron, the 2nd is directly above your head. Other than that, 256 is a decent place to sit. Wouldn't want to sit there every game but the grandstand seats are a lesser experience. Lastly, I know how much many fans enjoy tailgating but if you're going to be doing this, purchase your passes before the game. Expecting to drive and park is insane but the best parking lots are at Millenium Garage, Mccormick Place and Burnham Harbor.

To give you an idea what the view of the field is like from section 256, here is a Youtube video shot from there before a Bears/Seattle Seahawks game at Soldier Field.
