340 will give Mariner fans a great look at both the outfield as well as the infield of the diamond but it felt just way too far from the field; which it is. Some ballparks have only two levels of seats but Safeco Field has three which puts the upper deck fans way up near the Heavens. This is a pretty neat place to be when they close the roof, though. One thing I will advise against would be to sit in the rows 9-11. The railing is pretty intrusive and there is just too much fan movement down in front. I hate trying to watch a game and people keep walking up and down the aisles which I guess is why fans resort to club seating so they don't have to put up with that.
I also can't say enough about the staff they hire. The Safeco Field employees are knowledgeable about the ballpark, helpful, and seem like they enjoy their jobs which carries over to the fan's experience. The Mariners front office puts great workers in the stands, why can't they do so down on the field in the game? This city deserves a pennant contender!
To give you an idea what the view of the field is like from section 340, here is a Youtube video shot from there during a Mariners game at Safeco Field.
