Sat here for the game against the Leafs last season. Lower level tickets weren't even an option as they were too expensive. Had a blast at the game, my seats weren't as bad as what I had anticipated; row H. The stairs do get a little steep but there is railing up there so that you don't fall. At the end of the day, you're not all that high up, this place only holds 18,000.
If you're a hockey fan that just needs an excellent view of the ice, section 317 will do just fine. The fact that sits in the corner is irrelevant, really.
