Went to yesterday's Red Wings/Blues game and had row 7, seats 5 and 6. Seats were tight with not much leg room and no cup holders whatsoever. I'm not going to like, "The Joe" didn't have the atmosphere that I was expecting but the Wings didn't give the fans much to cheer about. No fights during the game, the crowd went the craziest when a fan threw an Octopus onto the ice to try to fire everyone up.
Seats are a red rubber though and are very comfortable. If you need to get out of your row, everyone else will have to stand up. If you're in the first 10 rows of the second tier of seats, you'll still be able to read the player's names on their jerseys. The only downside is that the videographers can get in your view - in the center of the arena when they constantly move to film the game. The jumbo tron is in plain view but it's very small and not too crystal clear. I wish the Red Wings would have turned out the lights as the team take's the ice but they keep it old school in Detroit.
The concourses are jam packed since the arena is only one level however, I managed to make a lap around the lower level during one of the intermissions. Tim Horton's concessions DO NOT accept credit cards, just a heads up. You will love the Gordie Howe, Lindsay and Delvecchio statues in the main hallway. You will likely have to fight a crowd to take a photo of them. Also, if you're elderly, you may want to avoid the steps outside of the main entrance or be very very careful.
These seats were great. I sat here last season in row 4 for one of the games against the Blue Jackets. Atmosphere is amazing. There are only two levels of seating at the Joe. Not a bad seat in the arena in my opinion as you will often hear about other venues. Still low enough to make out the players and hear the skates scratch the ice. Go Wings!
